Lombard Street San Francisco
Lombard Street in San Francisco is known as the crookedest street in the world. A steep crooked street Lombard Street is an attraction and challenge for tourists who visit San Francisco and Fishermans Wharf. To get the full Lombard Street experience start on Van Ness and travel up Lombard Street so you can experience the straight but incredibly steep hill that is the other side of Lombard Street. You can't turn left on Lombard from Van Ness so go up one block and take a right going around the block so you can go straight across Van Ness and up Lombard Street. As you slowly make your way up Lombard Street you will want to watch how much gas you give your car. Its not uncommon to hear tires squealing as cars move slowly up Lombard street. As you cross each intersection on Lombard Street check the mirrors so see if cars are coming. Once you reach the top of Lombard Street get ready for the slow crooked ride down Lombard Street in San Francisco. I like to try and park on the way up and walk down Lombard Street to take pictures. A hint, if you cannot find a parking spot on the right of Lombard Street look for an open space on the left. I use the driveways to go in and then pull out into a parking space going down Lombard Street the opposite side. You cannot drive the crooked side of Lombard Street this way but you can take excellent pictures of Lombard Street in San Francisco. Take a look at the pictures of Lombard Street in the Lombard Street Picture Gallery and enjoy your visit to San Francisco.
